Home / Adpiler alternative

Looking for an Adpiler alternative? Here's an honest comparison.

I paid for Adpiler for years to share HTML5, image and video banners with agency clients. It works. It is also $49 to $249 a month for what is, at its core, hosting a preview page. I built BannerPeek to do the same job for a fraction of that. This page lays out where the two stand today, including the parts where Adpiler is still ahead.

Last updated: September 2026. Adpiler prices and features taken from adpiler.com.

The short version

If your job is sending HTML5, image and video banners to clients and collecting comments and approvals, BannerPeek does that for $0 on the free plan and $12 a month on Pro, against Adpiler's $49 entry plan, and it does a few things Adpiler doesn't (comments tied to the second of the animation, safe zones drawn over social placements, drag-and-drop groups on upload, no campaign-per-month limits). If you need mockups for Feed formats and every network, or previews on real websites, Adpiler still has those and we don't yet. Everything else is in the table below.

Why people look for an Adpiler alternative

Almost always: price. Adpiler is priced for agencies with a steady flow of campaigns. For a freelance banner designer or a small studio that ships a few campaigns a month, the entry plan is hard to justify, and it caps you at 10 new campaigns and 2 GB of storage.

Adpiler planMonthlyAnnual (per mo)Limits
Small$49$3910 new campaigns / mo · 2 GB storage · White-label Basic
Medium$99$7950 new campaigns / mo · 10 GB storage · White-label Pro
Large$149$119100 new campaigns / mo · Unlimited storage · White-label Pro
Extra Large$249$199200 new campaigns / mo · Unlimited storage · White-label Pro

The second reason is that until recently there was no real alternative. General online proofing tools handle images, PDFs and video well, but HTML5 banners are a different animal: a zip that has to be unpacked, served, and shown running at its real size, next to the other sizes of the campaign. Adpiler was the only tool built around that, so it could set the price.

Where BannerPeek is different

  • Price. A free plan that stays free, and Pro at $12 a month — against Adpiler's $49 entry plan, which meters you at 10 new campaigns a month. You pay for storage, never for how many campaigns you shipped, and banner files are small: 300 campaigns of display ads is well under a gigabyte. The volume that puts you on Adpiler's $99 tier still fits inside Pro.
  • Built for the upload, not the dashboard. Drop a folder of zips, images and videos in one go; sizes are detected and you can drag files straight into named groups (Desktop, Mobile, Language B…) while uploading. No per-file forms.
  • Comments with a timestamp. A client clicks on the banner at the second where something is wrong; you get the pin and the exact moment of the animation.
  • Nothing to learn. Clients → campaigns → files → one link. That is the whole product.

BannerPeek vs Adpiler: feature by feature

“Planned” means it is on our roadmap, not that it exists. “No” means we don't have it and are not promising it.

Where Adpiler is still ahead

To be fair about it, there are things Adpiler has today that BannerPeek does not:

  • Social media mockups for every network and format (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Feed 1:1 and 4:5) and Google Ads mockups. Ours cover the 9:16 placements — Instagram Reels and Stories, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, organic and paid — with the safe zones drawn on top, which Adpiler does not do; Feed formats are next.
  • Preview on real websites: the banner shown on a screenshot of a news site.
  • White-label subdomains, team seats, private internal comments, activity history and an API as a paid add-on. Subdomain, team and internal comments are on our roadmap.

If one of those is something you use every day, weigh it against the price difference. If not, you are paying $49 a month for features you don't open.

Frequently asked questions

Is BannerPeek really free?
Yes. BannerPeek has a free plan that stays free: 100 MB of storage, 3 active campaigns, HTML5, image and video uploads, comments and approvals, with a small "Powered by BannerPeek" badge on preview pages. Pro is $12 a month ($10 billed yearly) for 2 GB and unlimited campaigns; Studio is $29 for teams and white-label. You can upgrade, switch between monthly and yearly, or cancel at any time from your account settings.
Do my clients need an account to review banners?
No. Clients open the link you send them, see every size running live, click on a banner to leave a comment and approve with one click. You get an email with who approved what.
Does it work with HTML5 zips exported from Adobe Animate or Google Web Designer?
Yes. Upload the zip as exported. The size is read from the ad.size meta tag, or from the file name (e.g. 300x250.html) when the meta tag is missing, which is common with Animate exports.
Can I move my campaigns from Adpiler to BannerPeek?
There is no automatic import yet. Download your ads from Adpiler and drop the zips, images and videos into a BannerPeek campaign; sizes are detected and grouped automatically. For an active project this takes a few minutes.
